Synopsis

When Gleb Zheglov, a character of the well-known movie, filmed by Stanislav Govorukhin, said that «the thief has to be imprisoned», nobody of his contemporaries doubted in the righteousness of this statement and that the criminal would be punished. A character of the new Govorukhin’s film, an old worker and war veteran named Ivan Fedorovich (Mikhail Ulyanov) has personal knowledge that today criminals remain unapprehended. The three young men raped his granddaughter for their own entertainment and went unpunished. It was easy to do so, because one of the criminal participants was the son of a powerful high rank militia officer. Guys were dead sure that they would get away with the abuse of a young girl, Katya. Three gits continued to have a good time, still arranging a "female" day on Wednesdays.

But Katya's grandfather doesn't want to accept this impunity. When he realized that he wouldn´t find protection by law, the ex «Voroshilov rifleman» decides to take the arm himself. A sniper rifle in his hands becomes a tool of cruel and inevitable vengeance.
